It’s A Rubber! It’s A Keyboard! It’s A Rubber Keyboard!!

I just got a rubber keyboard as gift, from my brother. In case you have not heard about them, they are flexible keyboards, made of rubber, virtually indestructible, impervious to water and look like door mat :) Which means when they get dirty, you can just put them under water and wash them.

The one I am using is of some turkish brand, which I have never heard about, typing on this keyboard takes little getting used too, specially for the “big” keys, like enter, shift and space, but after a while, when you figure out how to press those keys, it becomes much easier to type on it. From what I have figured out from different reviews, there is more than quality of these keyboards, apparently the expensive ones (which are available for upto $250, mine is less than $15) have better key sensitivity, though I don’t know anyone who have used both expensive and cheap one, so, can’t guarantee any difference.

Here are few photos of the keyboard, it’s original colour is black, which appears to be brown in couple of pictures, due to flash.

Overall, it’s a nice keyboard, great for mobility and very durable in moist environments. Even though it’s not for everyone, if you have any interests in this kinds of things, it’s worth giving it a try.

  2. PolyVector and I used to have one of those floppy rubber keyboards. it felt awful, but then again I am a huge texture person when it comes to touch. And I made even more typos while using it than I do now. I believe we originally bought it for our media computer so we could store the keyboard easily, but it ended up getting rip to shreds during a rampage.

Anywho, I hope you enjoy it, nice setup too!
